Greater Fort Lauderdale Tax Council

Andrew Comiter was invited to speak at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Tax Council monthly meeting. His presentation, “The Use of Estate Planning and Asset Protection to Protect in Cases of Divorce,” focused on the use of various estate planning and asset protection vehicles to minimize creditor exposure in cases of marriage and/or divorce.  The presentation covered nuptial agreements; uses of DSUE portability and lifetime taxable gifts; waivers; alimony; interests in homestead property and retirement plans;  and planning before dissolution of marriage.  Andrew will also speak on this topic at the Sarasota County Bar Association’s “Estate Planning and Probate Section Luncheon” on November 27,^, 2018.
